Ages 6-9 / 30 minutes
Level 1-2 students will be introduced to the basics of jazz. This class is high energy and upbeat while teaching proper technique. Students will learn steps such as chassé, Pivot Turn, Jazz Square and more. Jazz class begins with a center floor warm up of stretching and strengthening exercises, continues with across the floor combinations, turns, leaps and finishes with a center floor routine to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
Ages 9-12 / 30 minutes
Level 3-4 students will begin to work on leaps, jazz walks, triplets, cross ball change and more. We will also start working on a variety of different leaps, single pirouettes, axel turns and chaine turns. Longer combinations are also taught. Jazz class begins with a center floor warm up of stretching and strengthening exercises, continues with across the floor combinations, turns, leaps and finishes with a center floor routine to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
Ages 12-14 / 45 minutes
Level 5-6 students will be focusing on more challenging skills. Side leaps, switch leaps, chaine leaps, double pirouettes will be taught and students will continue to develop their jazz style while working on more intricate turn combinations. Grand tours and fouettes are also introduced. Jazz class begins with a center floor warm up of stretching and strengthening exercises, continues with across the floor combinations, turns, leaps and finishes with a center floor routine to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
Ages 13-18 / 45 minutes
Level 7 jazz class will be prepping dancers for our most advanced level. Dancers will need to master a variety of leap combinations, double and triple pirouettes, grand tours, fouettes, illusions and leg holds. Jazz class begins with a center floor warm up of stretching and strengthening exercises, continues with across the floor combinations, turns, leaps and finishes with a center floor routine to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
Level 8 is our advanced level. Students will continue to develop their own personal style and be pushed on their technique. This level moves at a fast pace and dancers are required to pick up on choreography quickly. Jazz class begins with a center floor warm up of stretching and strengthening exercises, continues with across the floor combinations, turns, leaps and finishes with a center floor routine to fun and upbeat, recognizable music.
