LEVEL 1-2

Young dancers will start to learn how to tell a story through movement. Contemporary is more of a freestyle, interpretive technique combining the techniques of ballet and jazz. Not as regimented and constrictive as a ballet class but a very disciplined technique. This beautiful, expressive style is often performed to slower, gentler music. An emotionally driven, storytelling dance form, Contemporary depends greatly on the passion and interpretation of the performer, and not just the movements themselves.

LEVEL 3-4

Students in level 3/4 will focus on proper body placement and strength. Emphasis is also based on dancers expressing themselves through music.

LEVEL 5-6

Level 5/6 is our intermediate Contemporary class. More challenging across the floor and center combinations are taught while continuing to challenge students to portray emotion.

LEVEL 7-8

s our most advanced class. Contemporary elements are added to this class.
