Mini | Encore | Elite
The Dance Academy offers a competitive performing company for children ages 5 through 18. We hold auditions to develop groups with dancers of similar age and ability. Our ultimate goal is to give as many dancers as possible the opportunity to perform while also providing a superior dance education. The Dance Academy believes that being involved in our competitive performing company develops positive self-esteem, confidence, accountability, and leadership in our dancers. In our program, dancers have the opportunity to perform for large crowds and compete against many other teams from all over the Midwest. Our goal is not necessarily to take 1st place, but rather we encourage our dancers to do their best and improve from one competition to the next and most of all, have fun. Time and time again, our philosophy has made our teams and dancers stand out above the rest.
MINI COMPANY
Ages 3-6
The goal of our Mini’s is to create an environment that is nurturing and positive so that learning and growing can develop and that the competition dance process can begin! Mini Performing Company will perform 1 routine at 2 regional competitions throughout the Midwest each year, along with performing at community events, our parents preview show our end of the year competition showcase. They will also get to work with guest instructors that The Dance Academy brings in. Mini Performing Company dancers will range in age from 3-6 years old!
ENCORE COMPANY
Ages 7-18
Encore Performing Company is for dancers that want to be on a competitive team while still being involved in extra sports or activities outside of dance. Encore Performing Company focuses on a variety of techniques including jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern and tap. The purpose of these classes is to work with a group of dancers that share the same commitment level by complimenting and challenging each other. Encore Company dancers will perform 2 routines at 3 regional competitions throughout the Midwest each year, along with performing at community events, our parent preview show and our end of the year competition showcase. Encore Company dancers also have the opportunity to compete in additional group pieces, solos, duets or trios if selected during the audition process.They will also get to work with guest instructors that The Dance Academy brings in throughout the season. Encore company dancers will range in age from 7-18 yrs and be placed accordingly, in either the Junior, Teen or Senior Encore Company Groups.
ELITE COMPANY
Ages 7-18
Elite Performing Company is for the dancer whose main focus is dance. It requires strict discipline and a
high level of commitment.
Elite Performing Company focuses on a variety of techniques including jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern and tap. The purpose of these classes is to work with a group of dancers that share the same commitment level by complimenting and challenging each other. Elite Performing Company dancers will perform 3 routines at 5 regional dance competitions along with performing at community events, our parents preview show and our end of the year competition showcase. Elite Company dancers also have the opportunity to compete in additional group pieces, solos, duets or trios if selected during the audition process.They will also get to work with guest instructors that The Dance Academy brings in throughout the season. Elite Company dancers will range in age from 7-18 yrs and be placed in either the Junior, Teen or Senior Elite Company Groups.
Elite Performing Company is for the dancer whose main focus is dance. It requires strict discipline and a high level of commitment. If you choose to be involved in other activities, Performing Company will come first.
